Facility Expansion Project

The existing hockey facility, located at 450 Sports Center Road, was built in the late 1970s and served the needs of local athletes for many years. The existing rink is now in need of significant repairs and improvements and no longer meets the needs of the growing community with its limited capacity and amenities.

With a great thanks to Derrick Companies and the purchase of adjacent property to expand our parking, the NRYHA is moving forward with our new facility project, renovating our current facility and adding a second sheet. We are excited and working on obtaining government approval and starting the fundraising process and capital campaign. Please stay tuned for future updates as we progress forward!  

Yes, this project is different than previously anticipated. After the Board completed their due diligence, we determined a separate facility would be cost and time prohibitive. Further, the opportunity to purchase adjacent property was a pleasant surprise that we could not have known or anticipated in advance. NRYHA has been saving money for many years with the express purpose of expanding the current facility and obtaining additional land for parking--so here we are! We are happy to share all details as they become known and approved.
