Coaching Application & Evaluations
NRYHA Coaching application and appointment process
NRYHA has adopted the following coaching application process. Please read and follow the process below.
Applying
- All coaching applicants are required to submit an Application.
- All coaching applications will be evaluated by the PCDC.
- For coaching applicants new to NRYHA, PCDC members will conduct an interview.
- All PCDC approved candidates are recommended to the NRYHA Board of Representatives to move to an 'Approved Coaching Pool'.

Applicant Evaluating
- All Applications will be reviewed, recommended by the PCDC and approved by the NRYHA board.
- Factors used in the evaluation will include, but not be limited to:
- Overall coaching experience
- Years as a head coach
- Background – playing experience, levels coached/played, etc.
Hiring Process
- The Director or Hockey along with the PCDC Chair may extend coaching offers and will contact all approved head coaches.
- All named coaches are pending until all requirements (listed below) are met. All requirements are due prior to all season activities. All returning coaches who do not complete all requirements prior to the start season (post tryouts) will not be able to participate in any team activities until completed and verified by the Director of Hockey. Please note that the coaching seminar is the only exception.

- USA Hockey Registration*
- USA Coaching Education Program* (CEP) program completion
- USA Hockey Age Appropriate Module
- Safe Sport Training
- Concussion Information
*Please note that NRYHA will reimburse all certification and coaching requirement fees for only approved coaches.
